The JP Sterling Collaboration
Following the successful collaboration with Rath and Smith-Watkins, JP Musical Instruments was keen to develop a similar partnership with Sterling given their prowess in the lower brass section and did so in 2010.
Since then Paul Riggett - the founder of Sterling Musical Instruments - has worked closely with the JP Musical Instrument team to develop a number of JP Sterling Instruments that have earned the prestige of the Sterling brand.
Paul Riggett originally founded Sterling Musical Instruments in 1987 having previously worked as production manager for Boosey & Hawkes.
With an intimate knowledge of production techniques and an expansive knowledge of brass instrument manufacture, Sterling Musical Instruments and a small team led by Paul quickly established themselves as a household name within the British brass band community.
Now well embedded within the very fibre of the national and international brass bands landscape, Sterling’s tenor and baritone horns alongside their euphoniums and tubas are the choice of many professional players including David Thornton (Sterling Virtuoso Euphonium in Brighouse and Rastrick Band), Glyn Williams (Foden’s Band), Patrik Randefalk (Eikanger-Bjørsvik Band) and Natsumi McDonald (Foden's Band).
The perfect package
The JP Sterling range all feature a high level of specification including full construction from high grade 80:20 brass and include a Sterling design leadpipe ensuring a superior sound.
JP Sterling Instruments come supplied with a mouthpiece, Ultra-Pure maintenance kit and high quality JP Pro case. The JP Sterling range has steadily increased and will almost certainly grow more as the collaboration continues to flourish. Many of the finest Brass Bands around the world have made the decision to change their set-ups to include our instruments. JP Sterling instruments are prized by their owners and regularly endorsed by professionals and amateurs alike.
What do people say?
